From the desk of Bob Smith...

There are friends and then again there are True friends. Some so-called friends are usually after something to satisfy their own personal agenda, but a true friend is beside you on the mountain top all the way down to the deepest depths. A true friend shares your joy and weeps with you during your sorrows. Noted philanthropist and entrepreneur Dale Carnegie once said, “You can make more friends in two weeks by genuinely showing interest in them than you can make in two years trying to get them interested in you.” In other words, to make a friend, you must be a friend. Be a person that your friend can trust unconditionally.

In this fast paced world we live in sometimes we forget who our true friends really are. We have a memory lapse or a brain drop. It's sort of like being on a staircase and forgetting whether you're going up or down.

I've had people tell me they have no real friends. That indeed is a sad commentary. The solution is simple. As already stated, you must become pro-active and nourish relationships. It's good for your health and mental well-being. As the Nike commercial reminds us, “Just do it.”

The bottom line? We all need friends. They motivate us, they help us, they encourage us, they support us and most important...they are there when we need them
